Terms of service
These terms govern use of the HoodHero mobile application, hoodhero.co.uk and the HoodHero browser workspace (together, the “Service”), operated by Timothy Foster trading as Tazmo Labs (“Tazmo Labs”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, purchasing a membership or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
HoodHero may provide AI-assisted vehicle diagnosis, vehicle identification and lookup, repair guidance, cost ranges, parts and tool information, OBD-II assistance, vehicle and repair records, reports and workshop-management features.
The UK Mechanic Desk is a beta service for eligible accounts. Features, eligibility and availability may change as the beta develops. It is not a substitute for accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, inspection or manufacturer systems that your business is required to maintain.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information, keep access credentials secure and use the Service lawfully. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring that people acting through a workshop account have appropriate authority.
You must not scrape, reverse engineer, overload, probe, circumvent access controls or use the Service or its data to build a competing dataset or service.
3. AI output and vehicle information
AI output can be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. Confidence scores, costs, specifications, part suggestions and repair steps are estimates, not guarantees. Confirm safety-critical information, torque values, fluid specifications, part compatibility, recalls and manufacturer procedures using authoritative sources.
VIN, registration, MOT and other vehicle data can come from government or commercial providers and may be delayed, unavailable or inaccurate. You remain responsible for checking the vehicle in front of you.
4. Workshop and customer data
If you use workshop features, you are responsible for having a lawful basis and appropriate permission to enter, store, use and communicate customer, vehicle, appointment, job, quote, invoice, proof and communication information.
You control the accuracy and content of customer-facing documents and messages. Review quotes, invoices, payment information, warranty statements and repair evidence before sending them. HoodHero does not become a party to transactions between a workshop and its customers.
5. Membership, usage limits and billing
Paid options may include Essential, Garage Pro and Lifetime. Features and fair-use limits are described in the app and may vary by region. Credit-limited vehicle lookups consume third-party services; Lifetime accounts currently have a fair-use limit of 30 such VIN lookups per month.
Mobile purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their store terms. Tazmo Labs does not receive your full card details. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refund requests are handled under the applicable store rules and consumer law. “Lifetime” means access for the supported lifetime of the HoodHero Service, not the lifetime of an individual user or device.
6. Third-party services and links
The Service depends on providers including Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, vehicle-data services and communications providers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of third-party systems.
HoodHero may participate in affiliate programmes, including Amazon Associates. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. External merchants are responsible for their products, fulfilment, returns and terms.
7. Your content
You retain rights in content you submit. You give us a limited licence to host, process, reproduce and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service and meet legal obligations. Do not upload content you lack authority to use.
8. Intellectual property
The HoodHero name, Jax persona, logos, interfaces, software and original content belong to Tazmo Labs or its licensors. Except for rights expressly granted by these terms, no rights are transferred to you.
9. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud, security risks, non-payment, legal requirements or material breach. You may stop using the Service at any time and can request account or data deletion subject to lawful retention requirements.
10. Availability and liability
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to those rights, Tazmo Labs is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by inaccurate user input or unverified AI output, work performed outside your competence, or outages and inaccuracies in third-party systems. Consumer rights that apply to you are not affected.
11. Changes
We may update the Service and these terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by updating the effective date. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the Service.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without limiting mandatory rights available under the law where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.
